TODAY'S EPISODE: Discovering the Life Hidden in the Seed
In today's readings, we encounter two very different ways of understanding God's work in the world.

In Job 20, Zophar continues his argument that the wicked will inevitably suffer and that suffering reveals something about a person's standing before God. His words reflect a rigid understanding of divine justice, one that leaves little room for the mystery of suffering or the compassion Job desperately needs.

Then, in Mark 3–4, we encounter Jesus healing, welcoming the overlooked, calling his disciples, and revealing the mysteries of God's kingdom through parables.

Jesus tells the story of a farmer scattering seed. Some falls on hard ground, some among rocks and thorns, and some on good soil, where it grows and produces a remarkable harvest. He also describes the mysterious growth of the kingdom, something happening beneath the surface, beyond the farmer's ability to control or fully understand.

These stories point us toward the great mystery of God's redeeming love. In Jesus, the seed of new creation is planted in the earth, and through his death and resurrection, life breaks forth for the world.

Today's invitation is to pay attention to the quiet, transforming work of God's grace and to discover that resurrection life is already taking root.
