Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible
Every day, people around the world gather with us around the Scriptures. We listen, reflect, pray, and learn to see the whole story in the light of Jesus Christ.
You do not need to begin on January 1.
You do not need to make up missed days.
You do not need to have it all figured out.
Just begin where we are today.
You are not behind. You are loved.
What is the Daily Radio Bible?
The Daily Radio Bible is a daily journey through Scripture with Hunter and Heather Barnes.
Each episode is about 20 minutes and includes Scripture readings, Christ-centered reflection, guided prayer, and encouragement for the day.
Over the course of the year, we read through the Old Testament once and the New Testament twice.
But the goal is not simply to finish the Bible.
The goal is to encounter the living Christ in the Scriptures and allow his life, love, and grace to shape the way we live.
Start with today’s episode
The easiest way to begin is simply to listen to today’s Daily Radio Bible.
No preparation is required.
Press play, listen to the Scriptures, receive the reflection, and pray with us.
Come back tomorrow and do it again.
One day at a time.
Follow the reading plan
The Daily Radio Bible follows the Life Journal Bible Reading Plan developed by Wayne Cordeiro.
The plan takes us through the Old Testament once each year and the New Testament twice each year.
You can follow along in your own Bible or simply listen.
The reading plan is a guide, not a scorecard.
If you miss a day, begin again with us the next day.
There is no catching up required.
A simple daily rhythm
As you read or listen, you may find this simple rhythm helpful.
S · Scripture
What word, phrase, or passage draws your attention to Christ?
Notice what catches your attention. You do not need to understand everything. Simply pay attention to what is stirring in you as you hear the Scriptures.
O · Observation
What does this passage reveal about the God we see in Jesus?
Christ is the clearest revelation of who God is. As you listen to Scripture, ask how this passage points toward, prepares for, reflects, or is illuminated by the life and love revealed in Jesus.
A · Abide
How is Christ inviting you to receive, trust, and participate in his life today?
Rather than asking only, “What should I do?”, consider first what you are being invited to receive.
Grace. Freedom. Forgiveness. Courage. Love. Rest.
Then ask how the life of Christ might take shape in you today.
P · Prayer
Respond to the Father through Christ, with honesty, gratitude, and trust in the Spirit.
Prayer does not require special words.
Bring your gratitude, questions, fears, hopes, frustrations, and needs.
You are already welcomed into the life and love of God.
What if I fall behind?
You will.
We all do.
There will be mornings when you are busy, days when you forget, vacations, illness, work, family, and life.
The goal of the Daily Radio Bible is not to create another obligation.
It is to create a rhythm of returning.
So when you miss a day, simply return.
Do not feel guilty. Do not quit. Open today’s episode and begin again.
Grace always gives us another beginning.
You are not reading alone
One of the beautiful things about this journey is knowing that listeners around the world are hearing the same Scriptures, praying together, and allowing the story of God to become part of their own story.
You may be listening while walking the dog, driving to work, sitting at the kitchen table, getting ready for the day, walking through grief, or simply trying to make room for God in ordinary life.
Wherever you are, there is a place for you here.
