A PUZZLING REFLECTION

Numbers 24-27 and 1 Corinthians 13. We are reading through the NLT.

We see things as a puzzling reflection.  That’s what Paul says here in Corinthians.  And it becomes pretty obvious as we read through passages in the OT, like today’s reading in Numbers.

The same is true in our own lives.  We can look back over the number of our days and it can seem like a puzzling reflection.  We can struggle to know what it all means.  But as we live our lives through the lens of Christ we begin to experience greater clarity and the lasting and eternal things that we all long for, like faith, hope and love.  These are the greatest of things. People like us, who have puzzling fractured pasts, can be made new, to the extent that we can see Him through it all.

That’s the invitation and the promise - to see our life in and through Christ.  He he can make the puzzling things, clear, through eternal things such as faith, hope and love.  We see things as a puzzling reflection, but as we look into Christ we see love, and hope, and faith

See your life in and through Christ.  Keep your eyes fixed on Him until all things become clear.

Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.  (I Cor 13:12 NLT)
