TODAY'S EPISODE
Today, October 21st, our journey through Scripture takes us into Job 9–10 and Acts 13–14.
In Job, we encounter a man struggling to make sense of his suffering. He longs to present his case before God, but feels the overwhelming distance between himself and the Almighty. He wishes there were someone who could stand between them, someone who could bring them together.
In Acts, Paul and Barnabas begin their missionary journey, proclaiming the good news of Jesus. They encounter people who joyfully receive the message, but they also face fierce resistance. Paul is even stoned and left for dead. Yet the message of grace continues to spread.
These readings invite us to recognize that faith isn't the absence of questions or hardship. It's learning to discover the presence of Jesus in the middle of them. And in Christ, we see the answer to Job's longing: God himself has come near, joining our humanity to his life and revealing a love that will not let us go.
