TODAY'S EPISODE:
Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible! On this 27th day of May, join Speaker A as we continue our journey through the Scriptures. Today, we dive into Proverbs 4–6 for timeless wisdom on living a life marked by discernment, integrity, and self-control. Then, we explore the powerful truths of Romans 8, where we are reminded of the freedom found in Christ, the hope for our future, and the inseparable love of God. Together, we'll reflect, pray, and start our day rooted in God’s word and the assurance that we are deeply loved. Let’s open our hearts and set our feet toward Jesus once again.
TODAY'S DEVOTION:
God does what our bodies cannot do. He achieves what our sinful natures fail to achieve. At the beginning of Romans 8, we hear it so plainly—God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have, and in that body, God declared an end to sin’s control over us by offering his Son as a sacrifice for our sins.
There are things in life that just can’t be accomplished by our own strength. We’re simply too broken, our world beyond our own repair, redemption, or even hope—at least from where we sit. But not so with God. Nothing is impossible for him. When all seemed lost, God sent Mr. Hope himself—his Son—into our world, into a body just like ours. And through him, he brought us a new kind of life: his life, the life he shares with the Father and the Spirit. This is a vision for what our lives can become as we walk by his Spirit and agree with him in faith.
It’s a life characterized by hope, peace, joy, kindness, and grace. It’s resurrection life—right here, right now. A freedom that can be ours today, even in the midst of all our limitations and weaknesses.
Friends, you are loved. God has united himself to you in Christ. There is nothing that can separate you from that love—not your failures, not your past, not your circumstances, nothing in this world or the next. Because of Christ’s work for us, we are invited to live in him and through him by the Spirit. Let this reality take root in your heart today. Remember that you belong to him, and allow his life to find fuller expression in all you do.
That’s the prayer I carry for my own soul. That’s the prayer I hold for my family—my wife, my daughters, and my son. And that’s the prayer I have for you.
May it be so.
TODAY'S PRAYERS:
Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. And in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose through Jesus Christ Our Lord amen.
Oh God you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent your blessed son to preach peace to those who are far and those who are near. Grant that people everywhere may seek after you, and find you. Bring the nations into your fold, pour out your Spirit on all flesh, and hasten the coming of your kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
And now Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light. And where there is sadness, Joy. Oh Lord grant that I might not seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love. For it is in the giving that we receive, in the pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in the dying that we are born unto eternal life. Amen
And now as our Lord has taught us we are bold to pray...
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not unto temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
Loving God, we give you thanks for restoring us in your image. And nourishing us with spiritual food, now send us forth as forgiven people, healed and renewed, that we may proclaim your love to the world, and continue in the risen life of Christ. Amen.
