They say they can do it. We will serve the Lord. That's what all these will say to Joshua, we will serve Him. And Joshua responded, no, you will not. But they insist. We will do it. And that's the cry of the flesh. I will do it. We hear that all the time, not only in our lives, but in the lives of people like Peter. He says things like, I will never disown you. And yet before that rooster crow twice, he had disowned the Lord three times. The flesh is destined to betray us and the Lord. What we need is someone who can do it, and has done it. And that is our Lord Jesus. He is the one who did it. He was faithful when we were not. He undid what Adam and all the sons and daughters of Adam continued to do. He kept the covenant, he served his father in absolute obedience until the very end, he did it. And after he did it, he said, It is finished, it is done. So now as God's people, let us not say we will do it. Instead, let us proclaim it is done. He has done it. And let us live in the reality of the victory of Christ our Lord, because he did it. You can remain in the land, you can remain in him You can remain in the promise and in life. Live in the one who has done it. That's the prayer that I have for my soul. That's the prayer that I have for my family for my wife, my daughters and my son. And that's the prayer that I have for you. May it be so
