Our God answers? But are we listening? The contest was to see which God would answer with fire. And we see the results. It was our God that answered with fire. Baal and the other gods of this world they don't answer, all the rattle and hum the fits and fury, they can't conjure up the answers that we need, and long for, the answers our soul demands, the hope, the life the victory that we were made for. The victory we need in this life is found only in our God, the God who answers.  In and of myself, I don't have an answer for the spiritual drought that exists in my soul or the evils of this world. Paul says, we do not fight against flesh and blood enemies but against evil rulers, authorities, against mighty powers in the dark world against evil spirits in heavenly places. On top of Mount Carmel, today, there's a monastery of the Carmelite order, they adhere to a vow of silence. There on top of Mount Carmel, are monks who are silent, they're silent, because on the top of Mount Carmel, Elijah was listening for God's answer. And they're silent because they recognize the truth that they don't have the answer, and Neither do we. God does. He is the God who answers. He answered Elijah, and He will answer you.  Our God answers but are we listening? Sometimes he answers with fire and sometimes it's through a gentle whisper. But we've got to be listening. Sometimes we have to see through the storm and the fire and the earthquake. We have to keep listening to keep looking until we hear his whisper. It's there that we are assured that he is God. And we are not. The victory that we need in this life can only be found in him. It's not going to be found in our own strength. And that's good news for us. That means that the pressure is off, ours is to rest and eat and follow. We don't have the strength but he does. We don't have an answer. But he does. are we listening? Let us listen. That's the prayer that I have from my own soul. That's the prayer that I have for my family from my wife, my daughters, my son. That's the prayer that I have for you ,may be so.

You are loved!
