Paul speaks of God's rich mercy and love for us. he tells us that the mercy and love we have in
God is a result of our union with God. God has united with humanity, in order to love and heal humanity. That's the Gospel. And he unites us when we are at our lowest, there he is. John and Moses see this in the story of the serpent in the wilderness. God says make a bronze snake, have everyone look at it and the will be healed.
Christ was the bronze snake lifted up on the cross, be became sin, even though he knew no sin, in order that we might become the righteousness of God. He did it! He became a curse in order to set us free into his blessed life. he has done that for you. He has done this for the whole world, today let's rejoice in the one who has united himself to us, just the way we are.
