Elijah says He is the God who answers and Elijah's God answers by fire. It's the fire of God's presence. God's fiery presence consumer's all that is not of love. That was and is God's answer. Our God is a consuming fire, but his consummation is love, filling the world which is the altar of His love with himself. May God's purifying presence in our own lives, continue to purify and consume us with His love Amen.
