TRAIN YOUR EARS

Today’s readings are Ephesians 5 – 6 and Psalm 119.  We are reading from the New Living Translation.

Jesus says,

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me (Jn 10:27 KJV).

What we do here every day, and for the last 339 days this year, is to train our ears to hear the Word of God.  We’re training our ears to hear the Word of our Shepherd. We are learning to turn our eyes from worthless thing so that He can give us life through the Word.  Our eyes are captivated by all that’s temporal, the things of this world. But our ears must be captivated.  Then we will walk free of the traps that our eyes so often draw us into.

Do you want a life free of the traps?  Then you need a life in his Word.  You can train your ears to hear the Word of the Shepherd.

I have wandered away like a lost sheep; come and find me, for I have not forgotten your commands. (Ps 119:176 NLT)

Our good Shepherd comes looking for us each day, offering us life.  We can train our ears to hear that Word that beckons us into life each and every day.

Train your ear to hear the Word of God.

You are loved!
