One Year Bible Podcast: Join Hunter and Heather Barnes on the Daily Radio Bible, a daily Bible‑in‑a‑year podcast with 20‑minute Scripture readings, Christ‑centered devotion, and guided prayer. This daily Bible reading and devotional invites you to live as a citizen of Jesus’ kingdom, reconciled, renewed, and deeply loved.

TODAY'S EPISODE:

Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible podcast! In today’s episode, we’re joined by a heartfelt message from Alex, a listener tuning in all the way from Rothenfels, Germany, who shares his personal journey of slowly coming to trust in God’s love and realizing the power of sharing that love with his own children.

Hunter continues guiding us through the book of Joshua (chapters 15-17) and 1 Corinthians 8, unpacking stories of inheritance, courage, and the hard-won assurance of God’s acceptance. Through today’s passages, we encounter the boundaries and allotments of the Promised Land, alongside the bold faith of the five daughters of Zelophehad—reminding us of our true identity as God’s beloved children, worthy of asking for and receiving all He has promised. Hunter also reflects on the challenge of embracing God’s love amidst personal insecurities and encourages us, as a family of faith, to take hold of the inheritance God freely offers.

We round out the episode in a time of prayer, lifting our hearts for God’s peace, unity, and the grace to be instruments of His love in the world. Stay with us as we explore the living Word, find encouragement for our daily walk, and remember this simple but profound truth: you are loved.

TODAY'S DEVOTION:

Knowing who we are in God gives us boldness to receive what He has for us. Sometimes, in the journey of faith, we find ourselves questioning our worth or hesitating to reach for the inheritance God offers. We might feel, like Hunter shared, as if the abundance and blessing are meant only for others—those who seem more deserving, more together, less broken. Yet God’s message to us is simple and profound: You are loved. You are family. And all that He has is yours.

Just as the descendants of Joseph, the tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh, approached Joshua asking for more land, they received permission to take what they needed. Joshua didn’t rebuke them or hold back. Instead, he said, "Take all you need." Their boldness was met with permission, and with God’s provision. The same invitation is extended to each of us—to move forward in faith, to not settle for less, but to trust that our Father’s heart is generous toward us.

We also see this courage in the five daughters of Zelophehad, women who, despite living in a culture that might have overlooked them, knew their worth before God. They stood before Joshua and claimed the inheritance God had promised. Their clarity and confidence is an example for us all. They knew who they were—not outsiders or afterthoughts, but beloved children with a rightful share in God’s promises.

This is the gospel that meets us today, right where we are. Not because we have checked every box, or lived up to every standard, but because our identity is rooted in being His children. The inheritance is yours. The welcome is yours. The abundance of God’s presence and provision is yours.

Let this truth settle deep within: You are loved. You are included. You have permission to take hold of every good gift your Father offers in Christ. Step forward in boldness and faith, trusting not in what you’ve earned, but in who He is and who He says you are.

That is a prayer Hunter carries for his own soul, for his family, for his children, and for you. May you know this love. May you walk in this identity. May it be so.

TODAY'S PRAYERS:

Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. And in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose  through Jesus Christ Our Lord amen.

Oh God you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent your blessed son to preach peace to those who are far and those who are near. Grant that people everywhere may seek after you, and find you. Bring the nations into your fold, pour out your Spirit on all flesh, and hasten the coming of your kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

And now Lord,  make me an instrument of your peace.  Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon.  Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope.  Where there is darkness, light.  And where there is sadness,  Joy.  Oh Lord grant that I might not seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love.  For it is in the giving that we receive, in the pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in the dying that we are born unto eternal life.  Amen

And now as our Lord has taught us we are bold to pray...

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not unto temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Loving God, we give you thanks for restoring us in your image. And nourishing us with spiritual food, now send us forth as forgiven people, healed and renewed, that we may proclaim your love to the world, and continue in the risen life of Christ.  Amen.
