TODAY'S EPISODE:

Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible! In this episode for June 2nd, 2025, your host Hunter invites you to journey through Day 153 of reading the Bible together. Today’s readings include Proverbs chapters 22 to 24 and Romans 14, all from the New Living Translation. Hunter emphasizes the simplicity and transformational goal of this podcast—to not just read Scripture, but to be shaped by the God who is love.

Reflecting on the wisdom of Proverbs and the call for harmony in Romans, Hunter explores the importance of attitude—specifically, adopting the self-giving, radically forgiving, and co-suffering love of Christ. You’ll hear encouragement to build each other up, honor God in daily living, and pursue peace within the church. The episode closes with heartfelt prayers for guidance, mercy, and unity, as well as a warm invitation to connect with the Daily Radio Bible community from all corners of the world.

Whether you’re a long-time listener or just joining in, you’ll find inspiration, encouragement, and a reminder that you are deeply loved. So settle in and let’s warm our hearts by the fires of God’s love together.

TODAY'S DEVOTION:

Attitude is everything. If you want to be strengthened and built up, if you long to see God's people grow and flourish, then the attitude of your heart is so important. Paul tells us, if you serve Christ with this attitude, you will please God, and others will approve of you too. “So then, let us aim for harmony in the church and try to build each other up.” What is this attitude? It’s the very attitude of Christ himself.

Paul writes in Philippians, “Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others too. You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he did not think equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges. He took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being.” This is the attitude that is everything: doing all things with a heart to honor God and serve others, laying down our privileges in love, and seeking harmony with our brothers and sisters.

This kind of attitude is self-giving. It is radically forgiving. It is a love that suffers alongside others and on their behalf. It is the very love that God has revealed to us in Christ. To be awakened by this love – to be discipled in the way of this love – will enable us to have that same loving attitude. It will free us to honor God, serve others, and to know the joy of the Lord.

And we’re not left to do this on our own. The Spirit of Christ is in us, enabling us to live out this attitude of love day by day. That’s a prayer I have for myself. That’s a prayer I lift for my family, for my wife, my daughters, my son. And that’s a prayer I have for you. May it be so.

TODAY'S PRAYERS:

Almighty and ever loving god, you have brought us to the light of a new morning. Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of your holy spirit that we may walk this day in peace. Guard our steps from temptation. Shield us from the weight of fear and shame, and lead us deeper into the joy of your presence through Jesus Christ our lord. Amen.

Oh Christ, light of the nations, shine in every place where shadows dwell. Call the scattered home, heal the wounds of division, and gather all people into the communion of your grace. May the knowledge of the lord cover the earth as the waters cover the sea. Amen.

And now, lord, make my hands ready for mercy. Make my eyes quick to see the hurting, my ears open to the cry of the lonely, and my feet swift to bring good news. Let me seek to bless, not to be noticed, to serve, not to be praised, to forgive, not to hold back. For in your way is life, in your mercy is healing, and in your love is the peace this world cannot give. Amen.

And now as our lord has taught us, we are bold to pray:

Our father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever and ever. Amen.
