Daily Radio Bible Podcast
There's a whole lot of shaking going on. Peter and John are back after being interrogated, and told to stop teaching in the name of Jesus. They had to stand before their betters and give an account for their words, and the miracles they performed by the power of the Holy Spirit. When they came back to their friends, they all prayed. And when they prayed, the room shook. Verse 31, "after this prayer, the meeting place shook and they were filled with the Holy Spirit."
Then they preach the Word of God with boldness. They were praying for boldness and proclaiming Christ's crucified and resurrected. They were praying for the with God life, here and now, that God's kingdom would be known and experienced by all. And when they did, the room shook. And God has stopped shaking things up. Wherever the Spirit of God is, things get stirred up, hearts are rehabilitated, minds renewed, priorities reassessed. Shame is done. And bold, self giving, radically forgiving, co suffering, love begins to flow from God's people. And it's all happening through the spirits enabling.
The Spirit of God is shaking things up. one person at a time, one community at a time. Jesus is going throughout this world and he's turning everything upside down. He's bringing his gospel of love for all to the hearts of all, and that my friend is good news.
